My Story – Dr. Lena Holmes, President & CEO

I became interested in leadership studies as a college student in my freshman year. One of my first college classes was Politics of the Middle East. It was this class, along with studying transformational leaders such as Mother Teresa, Nelson Mandela, Mahatma Gandhi, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Dietrich Bonhoeffer, and countless others, that sparked my lifelong devotion to studying leadership.

I began my personal leadership journey as the Associate Executive Director of the YWCA of Greater Baltimore. My professional background includes Founder and President of the Holmes Group, Inc., Executive Director of Doctors Community Hospital Foundation, and Assistant Dean of Institutional Advancement at the University of Maryland’s School of Dentistry. Most recently, I was Vice President of Marketing and Development at the Board of Child Care, a regional, faith-based, behavioral healthcare organization. Beyond my employment experience, I have provided private coaching and business consulting services for various faith-based organizations in Maryland.

Passionate about leadership development, I launched The Servant Leader’s Mindset Podcast this year. The podcast is designed to discuss critical skills and competencies for effective servant leadership. Also, the show includes informational talks and compelling interviews with leadership experts from various backgrounds.
